August 15, 2012 - Saints Fans Should Plan for Enhanced Security at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome

Source: Mercedes-Benz Superdome

Mercedes-Benz Superdome management would like to inform patrons of new security procedures at the stadium for the 2012-2013 New Orleans Saints season.

This season, in accordance with enhanced security screening mandated by the NFL, security personnel will scan patrons with hand-held metal-detecting wands at ALL entrance gates. Pat downs will no longer be performed. All other security measures will remain in place.

Because of the changes, fans should arrive early and allow for extra time to enter the stadium.

Streetcar Construction

Additionally, because of streetcar construction at the corner of Poydras Street and Loyola Ave., patrons expecting to cross this intersection before or after the game may experience traffic delays. This construction does not directly affect any roads or entrances on Superdome property. As with all games, NOPD officers will be directing traffic around the perimeter of the building.
